02 Dec: OFFENSIVE CRUMBLES! Kursk Becomes a RUSSIAN NIGHTMARE! | War in Ukraine Explained Reporting from Ukraine

Today there are a lot of updates from the Kursk direction.

Here, in a desperate attempt to penetrate the Ukrainian salient from the west, the Russians have committed their entire arsenal of armored vehicles to the battle. However, the devastating losses inflicted by Ukraine’s layered defenses seems to have exhausted their reserves of armor in Kursk to the point where they were left with no options other than to resort to pure infantry assaults on foot with even more catastrophic outcomes.

The main Russian goal here is to create a foothold on the east side of the Snagost River, capture the settlements along the bank, and collapse the Ukrainian defense to cut off supplies to Ukrainian forces to the north. All Russian attacks to this moment have failed due to the natural barrier in the form of the river and the strong Ukrainian positions on elevated points on the other side.

This has prompted the Russians to change their approach and throw all their efforts to break through from the north around Tolstyi Lug. If they establish a firm presence in the area, they will achieve not only their main goal but will also be able to increase the direct attacks against Novoivanovka to the east where they have failed miserably in the previous weeks.

The initial Russian assault involved several armored personnel carriers attempting to bypass a large local water reservoir and advance southward. However, the repeated use of this route in prior attacks on Novoivanovka had led Ukrainian forces to maintain constant surveillance of the area with drones equipped with thermal imaging. Once the Russian vehicles were detected, Ukrainian forces swiftly engaged them with Javelin anti-tank missiles, obliterating the convoy on the spot. The surviving troops sought refuge in the tree line near the water but were quickly neutralized by precision strikes from FPV drones.

This initial attempt by the Russians aimed at finding out the Ukrainian fire positions and checking how quickly they would respond. It was immediately followed by several large waves of at least 6 to 10 armored vehicles each, including several types of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and bigger numbers of infantry. The main Russian idea was to overwhelm the defenders and penetrate their line with brute force, prompting them to retreat further east.

Unfortunately for the Russians, the Ukrainians had anticipated such moves and extensively mined large sections of the surrounding fields. This forced the attackers to attempt a breakthrough along their former defensive positions, originally designed to protect the international border. Geolocated footage revealed the dire consequences: some Russian vehicles became immobilized on anti-tank dragon’s teeth, making them easy targets for Ukrainian forces, while others were caught in the open and swiftly destroyed by a combination of Javelin missiles, artillery strikes, and FPV drone attacks.

Wave after wave of Russian mechanized assaults ended in flames with soldiers of the Ukrainian 225th Assault Battalion and the 36th Marine Brigade publishing several videos highlighting the devastating results of the two-day-long Russian operation. The images show fields cluttered with burning remnants of Russian tanks and armored vehicles, scattered along a vast area between Tolstyi Lug, Zelenyi Shlyakh, and Nizhnii Klin, turning it into a graveyard of tanks and other armored vehicles.

One Ukrainian fighter from the 24th Assault Battalion confirmed that Russians switched to pure infantry assaults now, which indicates that the Russian units lost so much armor so quickly that they ran out of reserves in the warehouses in Kursk. Overall, the relentless Russian attempts to break through the Ukrainian defenses around Tolstyi Lug have resulted in catastrophic losses, both in personnel and equipment. Despite shifting tactics and exhausting resources, they have been unable to overcome the well-prepared Ukrainian positions, underscoring the ineffectiveness of their campaign in this region despite Putin’s orders and deadlines.

Dead Russian infantry littered road and fields: Reasons of failure of Putin’s army in Donbas Kanal13
230,922 views | 4,310 | December 2 2024 00:00:06 (279 comments)[ Read more … ] #Kanal13 #likekanal13 #subscribekanal13 #warinukraine https://www.youtube.com/user/kanal13az?sub_confirmation=1 – SUBSCRIBE TO US! Ukrainian drones and artillery have stopped another offensive by Putin’s army in the Novovodanoye area of Donbass. Against the backdrop of Trump’s victory and the decline of the Russian economy, the Kremlin has decided to seize as much territory in Ukraine as possible. For this purpose, Putin does not spare his soldiers, since Russian women must give birth to new ones anyway, Forbes reports. This policy of the Kremlin explains the constant attacks of the Russian Armed Forces, which end for them in a “bloody catastrophe”. In general, the Russian military, devastated by the war, is not ready for what the Kremlin now demands of them. On November 21, an enemy column, represented by the 3rd motorized division, advanced to the positions of the 3rd assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Novovodanoye area. At first, the drones and artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces dealt with the military equipment, after which they rushed to hunt for enemy infantry. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also actively used cluster munitions to send as many of Putin’s soldiers as possible to Kobzon. When the dust and smoke cleared, the Russian assault force was scattered and broken. Dead infantry littered the road and fields. Since autumn 2024, daily losses of the Russian Armed Forces have averaged 1,500 people. Many of the deaths are the inevitable price Russia pays for advancing along much of the front line. Open attackers almost always suffer greater losses than dug-in defenders. Experts say that such losses in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces could have been avoided. As an example, the events of November 21: Putin’s infantry went into battle without artillery and air support. Moreover, the enemy did not bother to use a smoke screen so that drones would not find them. “The full-scale invasion of Ukraine was a devastating fiasco for Russia’s ground forces, ” wrote Nick Reynolds, an analyst at the Royal United Services Institute. ” While it avoided total defeat in 2022 and 2023, the quality of its units has deteriorated due to attrition.” Well-trained and prepared troops are only on very important sections of the front. Otherwise, we are talking about poorly trained recruits, with whom Putin is trying to close all other sections of the front line in Ukraine. Russia is also doing poorly with tank attacks. Right now, the enemy can only use them as howitzers, firing from a long distance. As soon as they get closer to the line of conflict, they are attacked by Ukrainian drones. “Because of Russia’s military culture and general disregard for its personnel, ” Reynolds concluded, ” operations are at best cumbersome and more often simply unfeasible with the available forces.” http://youtube.com/kanal13az/join – click here and support Kanal13 monthly for distributing more videos and independent journalism

Will Russia’s New Hypersonic Missile Escalate the Ukraine Conflict? DEFENCE CENTRAL
2,667 views | 48 | December 2 2024 10:07:51 (5 comments)[ Read more … ] Russia’s recent use of a hypersonic ballistic missile in Ukraine marks a significant escalation in the conflict. The medium-range missile, reportedly called “Oreshnik,” was launched at a military target in Dnipro and is notable for being highly difficult to intercept, as well as its ability to deliver nuclear payload.

Moscow claimed the missile targeted military infrastructure, but Ukrainian President Zelenskyy condemned the strike as a severe escalation and called for global condemnation. Analysts suggest that the launch was a response to Ukraine’s use of advanced Western weaponry on Russian soil.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has told the Russian defence minister that Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons is the result of direct military intervention by the United States and Moscow is entitled to fight in self-defence, state media said on Saturday. Kim met Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov on Friday and said “the U.S. and the West made Kyiv authorities attack Russia’s territory with their own long-range strike weapons” and Russia should take action to make “hostile forces pay the price,” KCNA news agency said. “The DPRK government, army and people will invariably support the policy of the Russian Federation to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity from the imperialists’ moves for hegemony,” KCNA quoted Kim as saying.
