Drone footage has reportedly captured migrants illegally attempting to scale the border wall before being apprehended by Texas border patrol agents.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) released aerial footage of a border incident on Thursday.
The video purportedly shows border patrol agents stopping migrants scaling a fence near Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
DPS confirmed in a post on X that “the DPS provided air support to the border patrol agents” to stop “a group of illegal immigrants attempting to climb the border wall near the Santa Teresa POE & illegally enter the U.S.”
The footage shows individuals, described as migrants, throwing sand and objects at border patrol agents.
Since October 1, 2023, around 139,000 migrants have been apprehended near El Paso, 14 miles from Santa Teresa, according to internal CBP statistics.

Law Enforcement agencies face a multitude of challenges in their daily operations, particularly in the Patrol division. These officers are responsible for responding to emergency situations, deterring crime, and maintaining public safety. However, traditional methods of gathering situational awareness through boots-on-the-ground approaches can be time-consuming and dangerous, putting officers and the surrounding community at risk. This is where drones come in as valuable tools for first responders.
Drones have proven to be an effective solution for Law Enforcement agencies, democratizing real-time aerial situational awareness across field operations. However, traditional manual drones leave agencies vulnerable to costly crashes due to complex systems reliant on expert training, traditional GPS navigation, and foreign supply chains. This is where Skydio’s American ingenuity and craftsmanship come in, simplifying the act of piloting a drone through its advanced flight autonomy engine, visual positioning system, and on-board obstacle avoidance.
Skydio drones are easy to fly, hard to crash, and go where other drones and people shouldn’t. An environment may be physically hard to reach and challenging to navigate, as in the case of search-and-rescue operations near water, cliffs, ravines, mountainous, wet, snowy, or otherwise difficult terrain. Similarly, a complex environment may also be one with numerous pedestrians in dense urban settings, large gatherings, and close proximity vehicle traffic. Drones can easily navigate these environments, providing valuable situational awareness to officers on the ground.
Lastly, accountability is a crucial aspect of Law Enforcement agencies. Public communities place a high expectation upon their law enforcement agencies and individual officers to act in a responsible and legal manner while upholding the law and controlling crime. Technologies such as body cameras, in-car video systems, and traffic cameras help assure police accountability through the collection and storage of data recorded during a call for service or emergency response. Drones can also provide valuable video footage, helping to ensure accountability and transparency.

2. Detection:AI-driven camera technology classifies people based on gender and identifies threatening situations.This allows for a quick and efficient response to protect women in danger.
3. Action:The system sends a notification (via email/SMS) with a timestamp to authorities when an unusual or dangerous situation is detected.Direct police communication is also established through a centralized server for prompt intervention.
