Set crossflight/Mini Pix/PIXHAWK on Helicopter / Episode 2 Setup
Download Mission Planner for crossflight from RadioLink official website and install it (https://www.radiolink.com/crossflight_missionplanner)
Connect crossflight to the computer with a USB cable. Setup–Install Firmware–Click helicopter icon After installation, choose the right COM port, and CONNECT. Connected. Setup–Mandatory Hardware. You can see these main settings.
You can set in this order First, Accel calibration. It is best to do it before crossflight is mounted on helicopter. (Check the detailed tutorial on Accel calibration in the description) Second, Compass setup. If the arrow direction of crossflight points forward, but GPS arrow points backward, enter CONFIG–Full Parameter List, set COMPASS_ORIENT to Yaw 180 Click Write Params to save the modification
Fix the GPS and crossflight together according to the actual installation and click start to calibrate the compass. Calibration is successful when there is a prompt to reboot crossflight (Check the detailed tutorial on compass calibration in the description)
Third, setup the transmitter. Add a new model, such as acrobasic. We need to set channel 5 and channel 8 in AUX channel. The flight modes can be controlled by channel 5. You can use 2 switches to control 6 flight modes. Assign a switch to channel 8 to work as a safety switch. Enter CONFIG– Extended Tuning, set RC8 Opt to Motor Interlock After the receiver is connected to crossflight, click Calibrate Radio. Push the joysticks. (Check the detailed tutorial on radio calibration in the description) Fourth, Flight modes. Push the switches of channel 5 to set 6 flight modes. Modify the percentage to make the flight modes in the transmitter the same as those in Mission Planner. The flight mode will be displayed on the home screen, It is helpful to know the current flight modes. In the next episode, weโll introduce the swashplate.
