Abstract
An assignment of landscape architectural studio project requires students to conduct a survey of site study to indicates the current condition before they proceed to complete a landscape design proposal. The study requires a lot of time for students to measure the landform, identify the tree species, indicate the facilities, amenities, and building structure using measuring tape and other tools. This innovation uses drone in teaching and learning for landscape architectural studio subject as the alternative to perform site inventory, analysis and synthesis in project assignment. Instance of using measuring tape, or traditional camera, students conduct their site survey by using drone to do the topological study, plants identification, as well as architectural studies for buildings, facilities, and amenities. The technology of coordinated images presents more accurate information and more systematic techniques. With drone, students can avoid issues such as unreachable area because of height, dangerous, and more. This method is safer, cheaper, and faster than conventional method. As a result, students shall focus more time at the designing stage which give more credits on their marks and at the same time they can learn recent approach using technology that benefits their future. This method potentially can be developed further as a teaching module in built environment as the technology offer benefits to the industry.
