- The State Duma, the Russian parliament, introduced an amendment to the federal laws on the support of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which provides for the introduction of “special measures in the economic sphere” obliging Russian enterprises (regardless of ownership) to support Russian so-called “special military and counterterrorist operations”
- Ukrainians are demonstratively not interested in giving up land for peace with Russia, as evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the National Democratic Institute on May 2-11. A total of 66% of respondents considered the return of the territory controlled by Ukraine by 2022, not including the Crimea and the occupied territories, an insufficient price for peace (42% said it was completely unacceptable, 24% believe it is rather unacceptable). For 16% of respondents this option is more acceptable, while for 10% it is quite acceptable

Inside Russia, the war has divided society into two irreconcilable camps: those who oppose the war and those who support what the Kremlin insists on calling a ”military operation.” Since February 24, many Russian families have members who no longer talk to each other, or who rarely communicate.
