If the drone is in a fixed position (such as an artillery spotter drone) you would use the autopilot. If you are in the middle of an air combat, you would use your own jet controls.
I am pretty sure the guy flying it doesn’t have to be a trained pilot and is probably just an ordinary airman with a lot of experience flying and controlling aircraft.
I can’t find any evidence of any special training, however, you will have to be familiar with the principles of air navigation and have some level of flying experience to be able to control the drone.
Drones are normally controlled using the controller from a very short distance.
Is there any special training required for the pilot to use a drone in a conflict? Does he have to be a trained pilot or does he just have to be a normal pilot and fly a drone?
How does he fly the drone? What if he sees another drone observing him?
